PHILADELPHIA – The 30th Street Station District Plan has been honored with the architecture industry’s most prestigious award – a 2017 Institute Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design from the American Institute of Architects.  The District Plan was selected from more than 500 submissions from around the world.

The Philadelphia Chapter of Women in Transportation, an international organization dedicated to building the future of transportation through the global advancement of women, honored Philadelphia 30th Street Station District Plan Project Director Natalie Shieh as its “Woman of the Year” at a ceremony on Dec. 1. The award “honors a woman who is an outstanding role model and has contributed to the advancement of women and minorities in transportation.”

Partners - including Amtrak, SEPTA, Brandywine Realty Trust and Drexel University - announced plans Thursday morning for a massive $6.5 billion transformation. "It is about transforming this station to meet capacity and needs of the future," said Stephen Gardner, Amtrak.
